Love of a dog
There is no love like the love of a dog. Yesterday, a terrible day (as you might have guessed from the previous entry), was capped off by the best news I have ever gotten, and as I kneeled for my nightly prayers, overcome by tears of gratitude, sorrow and joy, I felt a warm body come to rest at my side.
Montego pressed up beside me, outstretched perhaps in a prayerful vigil of her own. She stayed there till I finished crying, until I whispered amen, before hopping up on the bed to go to sleep.
No, there is no love like the love of a dog, and of all the things I am grateful for this holiday season, she is certainly at the top of the list.

Apologies to all cat owners but that's why dogs rule with their drool.
Posted by Phil on November 17, 2005 11:21 PMI love me dog is a crazy way. I just melt when I look at her, and the mornings when I wake up and she is snuggling in my bed are just the best. My boyfriend, who usually pretty reserved, is just nuts for our dog too. She is the best companion, and just makes me so happy. There's nothing quite like dog love.
Posted by Annie Hall on November 18, 2005 09:15 AMShe's at the top of my list, too. Sweet 'Tego. I love a crazy dog better than anything, and she ranks among the craziest.

I can't believe my eyes. I had a dog who was the twin to Montego. His name was Sasha. He was my first "child". He was half poodle and half terrier of some kind. (His momma got out of the yard at a very bad time of the month to escape. She went on a date with the neighbors dog.) Thank goodnes because I loved my BoogerBear! I let his hair go long on the sides and his ears. Shaved his face and back like a Schnauzer and left his eyebrows longish like a Scottie. He used to wiggle his eyebrows up and down when he looked at you and was trying to tell you to get him cookies telepathicaly. I had him for 18 years and he died in 1984. I still get teary eyed when I look at his pictures. Dogs are the best aren't they?
God, she is SUCH a pretty pooch. I wish I had a 'Tego.
