So. Anyway. I got a speeding ticket this morning. In a construction zone. You guys know what that means. Mucho dinero.

I started driving in 1991. In Texas you can get your permit as soon as you turn 15, and believe me I rushed out and got that bad boy the instant I could. So it's been almost 10 years. And in 10 years I've been pulled over 3 times (twice in the past 2 years, oops) and every single time I've gotten a ticket. Who are these people who get warnings? Do they exist or are warnings a big ole urban legend?

I'm not a crier. I don't cry in situations like that. Ever. I just get pissed, and when I get pissed, I get bitchy. But I wasn't rude or anything, just matter of fact. I rolled down my window, I gave him my license, and that was about the end of our interaction. Do these cops want us to cry? Do they get their gigglies off it? Is that why I've never gotten a warning? Because I'm not boo-hooing?

Y'all, I don't have 200 extra bucks to pay this thing, so if anyone out there is feeling charitable, I'll be accepting donations. . . . I think I'll try the whole court thing next week and see what happens. But my word against his, don't you think they'll believe the cop first? Have any of you guys ever fought a ticket? Got any tips or tricks?

I'm at a loss, here. . . .

I can't drive 55 either
