Across the Ether
4 November 2000
Y'all there's no way I should be updating on a Saturday. But regardless, here I am.

Givin' you love.

I'm going to get so fired, can I just say that?

Yesterday, all I did was email and post on Squishy. It was bad.

Okay, not entirely true. I moved my desk and met a couple deadlines, but it felt like that's all I was doing. And it didn't help that every email flipped back and forth was funnier than the last.

How do you explain what you're looking at when someone sees a picture of a rat in a rubber duckie on your screen? 'Uh, he's test driving the new Duxus. It's gotten really good reviews. . . .' Yeah, I'm working over here. Right.

Plus I had such a wicked headache by the time I left from the lack of oh-two to my brain during my for-the-love-of god-laugh-silently spurts.

The kind of laughing you'd do in the library in college. When you're so slappy happy from hours of cramming and pounds of Swedish Fish that everything's funny. But you don't want to be rude so you laugh without a sound, making your whole body shake, your face turn fire red and your eyes tear up.

That was me. At work.

But this medium is so powerful it's frightening sometimes. I'm meeting people I never would've otherwise, people who are really suited for friendship. And it's scary, but it's also so fucking cool.

And now these connections over the ether might mean I'll have the chance to do something I've always wanted.

I can't really get into it, but believe me when I say that if it happens, you'll all be first to get the downlow

Strange connections
