Tonight was very nice. We arrived in Madrid around 7 p.m. and took the Metro to our hotel. We are the champions of the Metro!

The hotel is okay - Hostal Persal. It's a two star and the bathroom is kind of stinky, but we're armed with matches and linen spray, so we'll stand it.

Besides, the location is supreme. We're right beside Plaza Santa Ana, which is where all the trendy bars are. We stopped into a pretty cool one packed with Spanish hotties. Mr. Clean (I'd like to see him naked on a Vespa!) and the Plaid Boy. Our bartender, Miguel Munster, loved us. "Es Juana en Mexico!"

Dinner was so good. Some American couple T met in Portugal recommended this little hole in the wall called Restaurante Puerto Rico. All the customers were Spanish. Our waiter was a cutie. Very good and very cheap. Plus, that dessert was so amazing. Strawberries and whipped cream, which does not translate to "creama." I think we figured out what that means and it ain't "Cool Whip."

[Here's what happened: T and I inhaled the whipped cream, and ended up with naked strawberries. Miranda on the other hand, doled hers out, so that she had enough whipped cream per strawberry. T and I looked forlornly at our uncovered berries and T said "I wish I were a cream rationer." So we decided to ask the waiter for more. He stopped by and T pointed to her strawberries and said "Mas creama, por favor." His face. Stunned. Then his eyes lit up and he blushed and said "Oh! Something in Spanish." So when he came back, I said "Es 'mas creama' muy mal?" and he shyly smiled and said "Nooooooo," but then he pointed to the whipped cream and said the actual Spanish word for it, smirking at me the whole time. It was classic. So, of course, the rest of the trip we're all "Mas creama por favor!"]

Tomorrow I think we're just doing the Prado and going to see Plaza Real. I can't believe it's our last day in Spain! Such a good time and I'm glad we met up with T and the girls, although I'm more glad that it seems now to just be T, Miranda and me. Tapas crawl tomorrow night!
