Sitting on the steps of the Gothic cathedral in Barcelona. It's beautiful, as all are (especially the stained glass), but the whole thing sort of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure why or how the church in Toledo could affect me one way and this place another. Perhaps it's the multitude of alters or whatnot.
A group of Italian teenage boys are playing futbol/hacky sack in the plaza. They're not very good.
It was very easy meeting up with the other girls. I ran into Courtney, Hadley and Amy on Las Ramblas and then we all walked together to the Columbus Monument by the Port, where we met T and Dee.
Yesterday was our Gaudi day. We went to the Sagrada Familia, which was so cool. Then on to Park Guell.
Then we got changed and went for tapas and dinner. Stayed out until midnight. Today we rode the blue bus all around. Wanted to go to the music museum, but it was sold out; tomorrow too. So here we are at the cathedral. I want to go to the Picasso museum, but I also don't want to miss out on our last few hours of sunlight.
The other girls went to the Salvador Dali museum, somewhere that's about an hour and half away. With only two days in Barcelona, I wouldn't want to go so far away to see something when there's so much here yet to see.
I hope the train ride tomorrow isn't as horrible as the overnighter. I doubt it. Nothing could beat that horrible 1970s sleeper car. Yuck. My memories will have to serve me, as I don't even want to write about it.
