You
know, I thought 2002 was supposed to get better.
What a crappy day. Winter
came back with a vengeance (out like a lamb? Not so much) and
filled the streets of Columbus with the dreaded soupy slush.
My parents and I got back
from the ATL late on Sunday night, so I spent the night at their
place and drove back up to Columbus this morning. The roads were
fine all of the way up - wet and cold, but not icy. That changed
once I got into the city.
I got to Tego's boarders,
less than a mile from my apartment, and the parking lot was an
inch deep with slushy ice. But it wasn't slick, just wet and gross.
I went in to get her,
waiting for about ten minutes - it was like a zoo in there. A
tiny one filled with domestic animals. Finally I pay (they really
get ya) and they bring her out and she's all spazzy to see me
and I pick her up so I can carry her outside so her feet won't
get sopping wet.
We walk outside and I
stop and stare at my car. The hood's all buckled up and a piece
of my grill is laying on the ground. I stand there for a second,
thinking - Did I do that? When did that happen?
I walk back inside "Someone
just backed into my car."
"And left?"
the desk manager said.
"I think so."
She said she'll look and
see who left around the time I was in there and call me with their
info. T said that I need to become a one-woman investigation unit
and I am so all over that.
I'm still in shock. My
poor little car. Bastards.
And the worst part about
it, you know, is that even though my insurance will cover it,
and they swore it won't affect my rating, I still have to come
up with the deductible. It never ends.
The notify
wants you.
And the forum
wants you too, fool.
