6 January 2002

It's been snowing steadily ever since I woke up. Not heavy, really, but consistently and without a break. (If you watched the Steelers game, that's pretty much what it's looked like out my window all day.) Which is a shame, really, when you consider that I really need to go to the grocery store.

But since I'm still feeling fairly assey anyway, it gave me a good excuse to not leave my apartment. Which is also to say that I've watched a whole heck of a lot of MTVCribs today. I think I've seen every episode now, and even after repeated viewings, they still either blow me away or make me ill. These people - these houses! They're insane. (So far the only one I could really see myself living in is Melissa Joan Hart's. I don't know if it's because we're the same age, or what, but I really liked her place.)

(And have y'all seen Redman's? I get such a kick out of him; I could watch that over and over. The guy lives in a dumpy, completely unbling duplex, complete with his cousin Sugar Bear passed out on the basement floor. I love it.)

They keep showing the previews for the new season, and clips from Mariah's Manhattan highrise. I know that we all hate her, and that she's exhausted so I shouldn't speak too harshly, but y'all. Who needs 100 different little pink nighties to hang out in? I guess it's just cause she's so sexy.

So you know, let me just cut to the chase and welcome y'all to my crib.

Come in, come in. Let's start out in my kitchen. Let's take a peek into my pantry - some pasta, the phone book, extra Brita filters - buy these in packs of four, y'all, it'll save you, dog food and treats. Oh, you want to see what's in my fridge too, right? Okay, there's one Bud Light, some pizza in the box, an orange and condiments. A girl's gotta have her condiments. Oh, yeah, that milk's expired. So's the yogurt.

In here we have my laundry system - yeah, state of the art washer dryer combo. White. Gotta have the white appliances.

This is my media room. It's the place where I like to spend time with my friends and hang out. I can control the entire system with these three remotes - television, stereo and DVD. I like having all the controls at my fingertips. Here's some of my art - a Picasso print and a print of Gaudi's Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. I love art. This is my dog's home, it's her own little place to get away and sleep without stress. It's nice for both of us. On the mantle are pictures of my loved ones, because you know I wouldn't be here without them.

Next stop is my bathroom. I'm a shower girl myself, but sometimes when I'm feeling stressed I like to lay down in my shower/garden tub exclusive combo. That pillow was a gift - it's so important in helping to ease tubneck.

Now on to my bedroom, or as some call it, the room where the magic happens. I like to come here and sleep, or just relax. At the foot of my bed is my telecommunications center - where I have my computer, printer and scanner. It's where I keep in touch with the masses. This is my walk-in closet, sweaters, jeans. I wore this sweater last time I was in L.A.

All right, that's it. So thanks for stopping by my crib, y'all. Now you gots to get OUT. Peace.

The notify is looking forward to what 2002 brings.
